The SAG mill will operate in closed circuit with a cluster of hydrocyclones. A re-circulating load of 400 % was selected for equipment sizing. The targeted cyclone overflow size has an 80% passing size of 105 microns. The selected SAG mill has an installed power of 3300 kW and was selected to operate in both the Phase 1 and Phase 2 circuits.

single SAG mill, a two stage grinding circuit is recommended. 4 SELECTION OF AN APPROPRIATE SINGLE STAGE CONFIGURATION The first step in designing a single stage circuit is the selection of the optimum circuit configuration. Single Stage AG and SAG circuits can be sub-divided into a number of

A possible circuit change would send the crusher discharge to the ball mill circuit, better balancing the work between the SAG and ball mill. When ball mill-limited and with low ore variability, a similar circuit modification redirecting flows can be done. It may be possible to redirect some of the ball mill hydrocyclone coarse fraction back to ...

Circuit surveys reported a SAG specific energy of 8.6 kWh/t and ball mill specific energy at 8.0 kWh/t (Dunne et al, 1999 Hart et al, 2001). The T 80 was not given so this was back-calculated to ...

5|P age VANCOUVER 2015 Figure 2 - Open circuit of SAG mill regrinding The design details and results achieved with the circuit opening can be seen at Rosa et al. (2007). Such changes led to an approximate 50 tons/hour increase in the SAG feeding rate in 2007, with significantly higher uptime because of a great reduction in the number of liner ...

In the previous scenario, a constant feed rate to the circuit was given. Considering the SAG mill hold up level, a new scenario was presented in this section. A controller was implemented between SAG mill and feeder, so the SAG mill hold-up was controlled below a certain level i.e. a constant mill charge.

difference between sag mill and ball mill. SAG is an acronym for semiautogenous grinding SAG mills are autogenous mills that also use grinding balls like a ball mill A SAG mill is usually a primary or first stage grinder SAG mills use a ball charge of 8 to 21 The largest SAG mill is 42 128m in diameter powered by a 28 MW 38000 HP motor

considered, such as a primary SAG and secondary ball mill circuit where the individual stages would be ESAG and Eball, and the combined total circuit CEE would be Etotal. In all cases, the specific energy consumption is defined as the motor power consumed relative to the shell of the mill (a.k.a.

Where the SAG mill/ball mill circuit is the bottleneck in the processing plant the pebble circuit can be a significant factor in limiting overall plant capacity. The pebble circuit recirculating load can be very significant (depending on the ore characteristics and SAG mill operating dynamics).

ABC closed circuit, Autogenous-Ball-Mill-Crusher. Another similar technique is the ABC open circuit where the crusher product feeds the ball mill rather than the autogenous mill. Crusher product is typical feed to a ball mill using large diameter balls but not much grinding of 20-25 mm ore can be accomplished in an autogenous mill.

It is commonly referred to as a SABC circuit, for Semi-Autogenous Ball mill Crusher (SABC). This circuit shows a semi-autogenous grinding (SAG)/ball mill circuit where both grinding mills are in closed circuit, with the SAG mill closed with a crusher to control the amount of 'critical size' material in the circuit.

Of the numerous major gold mining operations around the world, most utilize a primary crushing circuit which flows into a SAG mill circuit and then a ball mill circuit. The primary reason for the significant comminution circuits is because in gold mining the grades are notably low and thus excessive waste material is present, resulting in high ...

The biggest characteristic of the sag mill is that the crushing ratio is large. The particle size of the materials to be ground is 300 ~ 400mm, sometimes even larger, and the minimum particle size of the materials to be discharged can reach 0.1 mm. The calculation shows that the crushing ratio can reach 3000 ~ 4000, while the ball mill's ...
